How Can You Comfort a Feverish Child Safely at Home?

The primary medical goal when managing childhood fever is reducing physical distress and preventing dehydration, rather than forcing the body temperature to artificial sub-normal numbers:

  • Hydration Is Paramount: Fever accelerates metabolic water loss. Offer frequent breast milk or formula to infants under 6 months. For toddlers, provide small sips of water, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), coconut water, or clear dal soup every 15 to 20 minutes.
